When buying a new car, the size and practicality of the trunk or cargo space are important criteria. As a uniform comparison aid, the customer often only has a volume figure in liters according to the manufacturer's specifications. However, this only provides a limited indication of the suitability for everyday use and practicality of the trunk. The customer might be interested in whether a bicycle can be stowed completely in the luggage compartment or whether he can transport the packed shelf home from the furniture store. The aim of the funding project is to develop methods for carrying out fully automated packing studies with everyday objects in the car trunk.
